U.S. Government & Politics
Whether government is too big or too small misses the point. Our first goal should be to make it good. Then we can make it whatever size it needs to be in order to get the job done properly. What constitutes "good government"?  For clues, check out the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution.

Public cynicism and apathy may be fashionable, but they're a cop-out.  Get informed, and get involved!  These people work for us, but they need to be reminded of that fact regularly in the course of dealing with our rights, our money, and our future.  Don't let the crazies and the greedies run the show.  Write.  Call.  Vote.  Perhaps you feel that you alone cannot make a difference.  But together, we can!

TANSTAAFL*

Freedom is never free.
Our forefathers didn't buy our liberty with their words and their blood; the best they could do was to make the down-payment on it.  It is up to each succeeding generation to keep up the payments through vigilant and informed participation.  If we fail in this, we will show ourselves foolishly unworthy of liberty, and we will most certainly lose it, whether little by little or all at once.

There are a great many things other than politics with which I would prefer to occupy my time.  My interest in the field is solely one of survival as a free human being.  Conscientious public protest, not only against the misuse of government by a powerful few, but also against the abuse of it by a largely ignorant and easily manipulated multitude, is not only a right but a responsibility, and the two are inseparably joined.  Neglect of the responsibility must eventually result in abolition of the right.
